Hey Paul, the way Google ads are now moved so that they appear after the first post is really annoying and they break up the conversation.
I've posted a pic of what I mean...
Could always be my browser or something if you've changed a bit of code coz they weren't here on my last visit yesterday (I'm using Firefox).
Is there any chance you could move them?? Coz I think these are far more intrusive than any other ads you've included..

Yeah, they are deliberate test... they only appear after the first post.

You'll notice that the sidebar is no longer there when viewing a post... I've tried using the site for a while in both styles, and found personally I preferred losing the sidebar and gaining the advert than losing the screen real estate to adverts on the left.

Thoughts?

The format of that ad isn't final yet

Ahh yeah ok I C, well personally I prefer the sidebar...but what do other peeps think??

I don't have the adverts since I am running adblock in firefox, but the lack of sidebar is quite annoying, I find it useful to see the recently active topics.. but whatever, it's your site, and I'll keep coming, sidebar or not.

I love the sidebar too, which is why it's on the other pages.

On a laptop screen at 1024x760 tho, it does take up a lot of space...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I prefer the ads as they are now.  My laptop also runs a 1024 resolution, and it makes such a nice change to be able to read posts across the whole width of the screen and hopefully this'll stop some posts that I end up having to scroll left and right as it goes wider than my screen will allow!

In short, put me down as a "yes" to the current format.

I'm a non sidebar person as I only view the site on the lappy so I need as much space as possible for post viewing.

I find with them underneath the first post I sometimes miss any replies thinking there aren't any there.

I agree - I think the side bar was a lot better
