I have a Lexar 1GB SD card that I've used with two smartphones so far. I've consistantly had a problem where the data on the card is becoming corrupt after I remove it from the USB reader. I've tried 2 different readers so far and all had the same problem. I've never had a problem with smaller (256MB) cards only with the 1GB.
Basically everything copies over fine, but if I pull the card out and then put it back in the reader or in the phone, all the data is corrupt. I'll see a directory structure full of only folders and all the names are just random characters, i.e.

I'm running WinXP Home and I've tried first using the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature before removing the card from the reader. I've also made sure that all files have finished copying, doing so much as leaving it in the reader for an hour after it finished. I've tried both a SanDisk and some generic reader I got from Office Max and both had the same problem.
I'm wondering if its a known problem with the card or if anyone else has run into the same problem. It does seem that I only have the issue when I try to put more than 512MB of data onto the card, but I can't say for sure that is the case.
Any input is greatly appreciated as I'm nearly fed up at this point.
Thanks.
