Guest Pondrew
Have a look for an app called Metro. I once checked it out for Smartphone but know they have a Pocket PC version too. They offer regularly updated maps of transport systems from around the world too... In my case I couldn't get the hang of it (or rather, didn't really need to). Guest 6thElement
You could either use something like TomTom Navigator or Memory Map.
Guest NX5
I use Tube london Pro on my PPC (no GPS or interactive maps) but I am sure that the people who make the atoz books produce software for the PPC.

Guest rockykabir
Do you happen to know any programs similar to the Journey Planner found in http://www.tfl.gov.uk? i.e. you enter the postcodes, and the prog will return the bus/tube/train numbers and routes to take to get to your destination... Now that will be the best program ever for a Londoner! Edited July 29, 2005 by rockykabir

Visual IT's Streetmaps are of good quality (they use a-z maps). But, the downer is that u cant plan a journey :) .
Guest rockykabir
Thanks for the TFL link btw. Only prob is that I don't always have wap available  I remember playing with a free tube planner on my sister's 3220. It was pretty basic but it did the job (it was only 30k!). You just typed in the station names of your destination and starting points, and a graphical route plan is displayed. It'll be great to see something like that with the tube and bus lines incorporated - maybe inclusive of the whole of UK?. Also, a nice addition would be the inclusion of night buses maybe. I remember getting stuck in unknown-to-me Coventry a few weeks ago. The coventry busline website was down and all the phone lines were shut  - I was quite lucky to find my way! :) TomTom and the rest is fantastic but the public system navigation is greatly overlooked. There will undoubtedly be many people interested in such a program for their pocketPC/Symbian phones. Edited July 31, 2005 by rockykabir
