Does anybody know when the i-mate SP5 and i-mate SP5m (don't know the orange SPV names) will be released? I've googled around a bit and only expansys has some pre-order forms but nothing official. Also, does anybody know what will the price tag be for this lovely wi-fi WM5 enabled phone and if it will become available from orange as a contract phone?

http://www.gsmarena....te_sp5-1267.php

Thanks in advance

Buzz mobile (buzz-mobile.co.uk) also have it on pre-order, I rang them to check if they had a release date & they said that they had nothing official but that it should be within a month - I know what my next phone is going to be!

Same spec as Qtek 8300 (SP5m) & Qtek 8310 (SP5) - no release dates for those either - Orange SPV C600 is based on the same phone but has no wifi because Orange don't care what the customer wants - have you ever heard the expression 'The supplier is always right'?  Orange live by this motto!

I doubt that Orange will release a phone which is in direct competition with one of their SPV phones (but with extra features)

Oh, & they have it on O2 & Vodaphone + said that they should be doing it on T-Mobile as well.

I'd like it on 3 even though it's not a 3G phone - because their tarriffs are so cheap and I am so tight!!!

That's nice - if it's released within a month. I just hope that the construction will be better than the previous SP3i

Expansys have it down as due to arrive in 9 days - but they aren't the cheapest

Have found it on Vodafone and O2

Would rather have a 3 contract and have voice calls on O2 as that's far cheaper than an O2 contract - but for some reason 3 don't want to let me have a non 3G phone free with one of their contracts  :o  :??:

Must say I envy u guys. This new I-Mate sounds the bees knees! Lets just hope there's no new bugs or 'features' introduced that detract from it. I'm also really interested on whether the battery life had been increased back upto C500 levels.

Looks good. Hmm so the processor is OMAP850 195MHz. What programs / games have you tried so far?
