Why oh why does ActivSync not allow Windows Mobile 2005 devices to back up files??? Any ideas?

that's interesting. Perhaps, because wm5 has persistent memory (won't lose memory when battery runs out), they don't see a need for it. Still, it's a shame. There are quite a few freeware backup programs i think - for non-system data, at least.

Yeah that is true, but what happens when I have to do a hard reset? (all users of these windows mobile devices will know we will have to that at some point! LOL)

Nah, not really. I've had mine for over six months. It's reset itself once (an application crashed and it locked up) and I reset myself the first week a couple of times while messing about. Quite disappointed really, I bought backup software and everything, never needed it! ;)
