I've asked the Taiwanese manufacturer TEC if they could confirm the exictence of their 2GB MiniSD cards and if the rumour about 4GB MiniSD cards was more then a rumour. I also asked if they shipped to Europe, particular The Netherlands, since their page with a list of agents was empty.

Their reply within a day:

Dear Roma,

It’s correct. We produce 2GB mini SD for one month already. About 4GB, the schedule might be in 2006 Q1. It’s ok to us to ship out goods to Europe. Please let me know you detail demand.

Regards,

Scott

Now I didn't ask about the price, but for the 2GB version that seems to be aroud the $ 160.00

Now how to organise this so we all can have one if we want and get the price down? I'm v-e-r-y interested in the biggy. 4GB in my phone... yummie :)

Edit:

$ 115.00 for the 2GB card at 100 pieces. Now who joins me here :?:

They will both probably work but the prices are for suppliers - by the time you ad VAT and Duty and shipping it will not be worth it. wait 6 months and they will start filtering through and then drop in price rapidly.

There was a similar thread with the 1Gb cards but it wasn't worth importing. Best to wait until they appear online methinks.

Probably true. A retailer confirmed to me that the SanDisk 2GB is due next month. In The Netherlands that is. So at least we know they're coming and that the 4GB is on its way also.

Put me on your list, but will it work in a c500?

spoke to a friend who works at the htc repair center n they dont know.. ;)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It was me who purchased the 1GB MiniSD card from Korea, 4 months before they hit stateside. I paid $135 all inclusive, and now you can buy them for $40!

Sad.

But, I'd probably buy a 4GB. I'm just a sucker for new gadgets/toys!

I use a 2GB sandisk miniSD do my qtek 8310. It's the best buy ever. It says I can hold over 5.000 high quality max resolution images. How am I ever supposed to fill it?

Also:

installations of Windows on the miniSD - and just plug it into a flash usb stick which accepts miniSD and install it from that

sure...itll be slow for now but the point is...portibility :)

I actually do that at work sometimes....fun stuff

Co Pilot and Wikipedia take nearly a Gig between them. I've got about 3Gb on mine with no vids at the mo.

If they did bigger SD cards I'd probably get one but 4Gb is as big as yu can get for now.

Is there a way to store Wikipedia content on your card for offline browsing?
