Hi I have the 8310 from Qtek

Very super product but I miss the Excel, Word, PDF etc. viewers or editors.

I know there is Clearvue but they seem not to support latest WM5

Does anyone have found something?

Clearvue is included in the 8310 package and it works perfectly!

Where did you buy it?

You are right. I should have looked into the sales package as there is an Application CD with Clearvue on it. My fault

Thanks very much for the wakeup call :-)

Strange

I can only install the Office from Clearvue into the main memory. If I install in the SD Card (1GB) it will not show in the Startmenu. I wish to install it on the card cause the application is 3 MB big.

Any hints?

I have created the shortcuts in the start menu and it works fine. BUT when receiving an attached .doc file in a mail it does not recognize the file format.

It worked fine when I installed ClearVue on the mobile and not the storagecard.

Any solutions?

Does anyone know if the SP5 also comes with clearvue?

My CD seems to be messed up... The EXTRAS and MEDIA directories won't read :)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Mine didn't. The Extras and Media folders on my CD are empty.

Does anyone know how to put the Qtek bundled clearvue suite onto an i-mate phone (sp5m). It fails the installation i think because i have an i-mate ROM and not the Qtek ROM.

Thanks

You probably need to change the OEM string. Its so stupid because ClearVue themselves won't even sell me a copy for the SP5. V2.41 on their site doesnt work on WM5, so instead i've just started using v2.3 wich works perfectly.

How do you create a shortcut?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

U use the filemanager on the phone or "Explore" in Activesync.

You need to find the program file on the phone og storagecard, mark it and "create shortcut" and then move the shortcut to the Start Menu on the phone.

The ClearVue installer is faulty. It installs the shortcuts to the storage card also. But they work fine when copied to start menu in memory.

The bad news: The file extension links are also corrupted when installing to storage card. You need to set them maynually in registry or by file manager.

I informed westtek about the problem and they announced an update per mail.

Have you tried associating .doc files with ClearVue before? What I did is I synched one of my documents onto the phone and then associated the file type with ClearVue Docviewer and it worked fine with attached .doc files. I also did the same with a Powerpoint (Presentation Viewer), Excel (Spreadsheet viewer), and Adobe Acrobat pdf file (PDF viewer).

The replies in this topic were all about ClearVue, but did anyone try to get Excel Mobile, Word Mobile, etc. to run on the HTC Tornado/Faraday ?

I know Office Mobile runs on the SPV M5000 (and other devices), which has Windows Mobile 5. Since the SPV C600 also has WM5, Office Mobile should run, at least theoretically, on this device.

Suggestions anyone ?

Thanks

First, Office Mobile is not for smartphones. Its for PDAs with touchscreen interface.

Second, its not transferrable nor standalone package, its part of of the OS. "moving" to smarphone it will be quite non-trivial.

After reporting the problem to clearVue Support, they have given me a serialnumber for ClearVue Suite which can be downloaded at their site.

It works great...also installed on the SD card. It also associates the files perfect.

I contacted them for the same issue and they never replied. Anyone else have any luck with this or know where to get the fixed version for T-mobile SDA?
