Earlier in the week Coolsmartphone posted http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news1986.html

Nice work i thought as I watched the i300's slowly get bids.. I've been watching them the past week expecting loads of interest. My guess was a end price of £300+ My reasoning was an ipod, phone, organiser, small office entertainment machine rolled into one has to be worth a little extra? Well by chance I left my lights on and my battery went flat....I phoned the recovery company to jump start me as one attempted with a work colleage didn't work. I went back in and sat at my PC and decided to browse ebay as I do when bored. I remembered the advert and decided to take a look. NOw i had always fancied a i300 i'd miss out on the wifi but gain the storage.. when the page loaded I saw the i300's and couldn't believe it! 1 minute to go! wow and £180.00 £165.00 172.00 etc.. and all ending within about 20 minutes! I stsrted bidding and missed the the first one on what was left which went for £215.00 I couldn't go more than £210.00 as I thought that was the most i could pay without being silly. Well i waited for the next one to get to 10 secs and stuck £210.00 in and crossed my fingers then quickly topped it to £215 incase.! ahhh.. sweet! I've won!

Samsung i300 for £210.00 Happy Days! Now that won't happen again for a while! So who else was a lucky fella? or who thinks i've been a silly boy and paid too much?

I reckon you probably got a good deal! It won't be out on PAYG for a while at least, and SIM free it might be 300+ in some shops. Be sure to tell us what it's like when you receive it - and how the hard drive and battery are etc. :)

Well built device, battery life lets it down tho, I dont think you got a bad deal as its a very one of a kind phone, O2 are doing them for £49.99 with contract now.

So who's playlist and songs did you get? I wanted Howard Mark's but since he uses the same MBE as me in York maybe I'll just ask him. I ended up with Party Organiser and all-round socialite / friend of Kate Moss / Sadie Frost etc etc Fran Cutler's...

...was planning on junking the playlist anyway - don't know which is worst, that I won a d-list non-celebrity's phone/playlist, or that I actually know who she is...

Cheapest went to some guy with 1 f/b in spain for £200 so not too bad. Highest was £240.

I'll post the playlist here when I receive the phone if anyone's interested?

I love the o2 auctions :) Back in 2001 I got a lot of good handsets on the internal charity auction when I worked at BTC - ericcson r380s for £40, sony M Z5 memory stick atrac walkman phone for £100 ( like the Z5 but chunkier with a memory stick slot and an optical in to record directly to the magicgate stick), XDA wallaby prototype for £200, various PAYG philips for £10 each.....good for christmas presents..

Anyone received theirs yet? I paid via paypal but all I've got are out of office replies from the pr company, yet they have been given some feedback on ebay for their 'quick delivery'...

TBH, I saw these and felt it was a con.In capital flashing letters.  I hope that I am proved wrong so that you get your phones.

Well, I emailed them yesterday to check on it's status and she'd forgotton to send it

To their credit, she did offer a *same day* courier from London to York with it, but as I've used a similar service the other way which cost £350 + vat and it was a charity auction I said that was OTT for 1 phone. It should be here tomorrow.

It never was a WM2005 device. This was an auction FOR CHARITY so I hope most if not all of what you've made as a profit will be donated to a good cause, if not then shame on you.

Richard,

Hope it arrives okay and that you are happy with it; please let us know what your impressions of the device is.

Thanks

Mick

Wouldn't you know it, the day it's due to be delivered I'm going to be in London around the corner from the PR co's office....

The courier drop off I use know to expect it so it should be waiting for me on sunday :-)

Now, I've got a list of 3 devices I want to poke around inside - this i300, a qtek 9100 ( which I've chipped the casing off  ) and an imate sp5m - oh which do I take to bits first?....

....probably the i300 when I have time. I want to see the 3gb drive -e xpect some out-of-focus photos when I do ( somebody PLEASE tell me which camera to buy  ) ;)

Richard

p.s I've emailed them to pass on a request for wm2005 upgrade for it to samsung...
