GPRS settings for o2?

I did a Corp install on my XDA Exec, and now it wont let me go on the internet via GPRS... I go into the settings, but I have NO idea what to put in there! I've looked on the web, but nothing has helped!

Can anyone help?

I used to be on O2 monthly and used:

APN (access point) mobile.o2.co.uk

User: mobileweb

Password: password

If you're sending email then you may need to use their smtp (outgoing email) server at smtp.o2.co.uk

...and that ought to be all you need.

Dont mean to dig up an old thread, but i'd like to say thanks for this info - i was looking for ages and about to hard reset my phone and install o2 active....

All the other info i found on the net suggested web.o2.co.uk and o2web/password as the details... but the ones you gave work perfectly :)

setting as supplied to me by o2 data support.... hope they are of use....

How do I manually check/setup the GPRS Web settings?

Start > Settings > Connections > Connections >

Under My ISP tap Manage Existing Connections and then Tap Edit

(if this isn't present then tap 'Add a new modem connection')

The Select a Modem drop-down box should be set to Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)

Tap Next

Access Point Name: mobile.o2.co.uk

Tap Next

Username:o2web

Password: password

Domain: leave blank

Tap Advanced

On the TCP/IP tab, only Use Server-assigned IP Address should be selected

Tap the Servers tab

Use Specific Server Addresses should be selected

DNS: 193.113.200.200

Alt DNS: 193.113.200.201

Tap OK

Tap Finish

Tap the Servers tab

Only Use Server-assigned Address should be selected

Tap OK

Tap Finish

Tap Proxy Settings

Tap Advanced

Tap the WAP field

In the Server filed enter 193.113.200.195

In the Port field enter 9201

Tap OK 4 times and exit

How do I manually check/setup the MMS settings?

Start > Messaging > Menu > MMS Configuration

In the Preferences tab tick Retrieve Messages Immediately

Tick Download on home network only

Tick Save sent messages

Tap the Servers tab

Tap O2UK

Server Name: O2UK

Gateway: 193.113.200.195

Port Number: 9201

Server Address: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

Set the 'Connect Via' drop down box to My Work Network

Sending Size Limitations: 100K

WAP Version: 1.2

Tap OK twice to exit

How do I manually setup the POP3 settings?

Start > Messaging > Menu > Tools > New Account

Email address: enter your full email address

Tap Next

Your Name: your full name (or can be anything)

User Name: your email account username (the format will differ across ISP's)

Password: your email account password

Tick Save Password

Tap Next

In the Name field you can enter a name for the account (only possible if setting up new account)

Tap Next

Incoming Mail: your ISP incoming mail server

Outgoing Mail: smtp.o2.co.uk

Leave the Domain field blank

Tap Finish
