Guest sparkesy Posted January 25, 2006 Report Share Posted January 25, 2006 Hey guys, I'm tempted with the idea of trying to speed up my m5000 by uninstalling the 'customisation version' that is listed in the remove programs dialog. I assume this is to do with the orange fiddly bits, such as xml desktop thingy etc etc. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried this? To be honest with you I'm so youst to the standard homescreen, as I've previously had an axim x3 and an orange m2000, that I couldn't deal with all that orange faff. I've checked in all the folders and I honestly can't see any software thats been removed or any change in the device state. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can see the full difference of what is included on the Orange ROM if you do a hard reset and after calibrating the screen, choosing a password & changing the time zone do a soft reset... this will stop the Orange customisation ROM from installing! This is a foolproof and safe way of testing the performance with no Orange junk installed... When you've finished you can simply perform another hard reset without a soft reset thereafter.... et voila!! just how it was when you first received it from Orange... !!
