When the device goes into Standby the speed is being reset (good, because you don't want a fast CPU when it's doing nothing)... you then need to use the Notify queue to overclock again when you wake up the device.

Managed to set my C550 to 264Mhz and running the Matrix Reloaded demo (RL_SQB_160x216_192_56.AVI) through the benchmark option in TCPMP this is what happens...

Before overclock

Time: 1:40.640

Frame Rate: 36.12

Sample Rate: 33144

Data Rate: 388Kbits

After overclock...

Time: 1:05.921

Frame Rate: 55.14

Sample Rate: 50600

Data Rate: 593Kbits

Very Impressive, everything else seems to work so far. Just a word of warning dont try 300Mhz or higher as the phone start 'screaming' and you have to pull the battery out.

Has anyone tried higher than 240MHz on an i-mate SP5 or variants? :)

The max number I got with SP5 was 276 in OmapClock, 288 the system crashes and, at 300 Mhz, it just soft resets.

I've got a 1.62x higher perfomance with this.

Still... What a great app!!!

From what I can recall, I restarted my phone and had it (version 0.1) working after.

I have it load on phone Startup using special LNK (v0.2) :

24#”\Storage\OmapClock.exe” -clock 108

Runs silent on background with 108Mhz clock speed.  :)

Could you explain in little more details how you created this link. I am using QTEK 8310 running WM5. So if I install the program in program files, my short cut should read:

"\program files\Omapclock.exe" -clock 108 (or the freq I wish)

And I place this link in the windows\startup folder

Problem is when I tried to change .lnk file to above, I immediately get message, certain characters ", # etc are not supported file names. I only have Smart Explorer or built in File Mgr. Any idea how to create above mentioned link with these programs???

Thanks

First is to transfer OmapClock.exe (version 0.2) to your phone. You then create a shortcut to 'OmapClock.exe' via ActiveSync. File 'Shortcut to OmapClock.exe' is then created, its an LNK file.

Transfer the LNK to your PC. Open the LNK on your PC using Notepad. Add " -clock XXX". Save the file as .LNK (not TXT). Transfer back to your phone's Start Menu folder.

Did anybody get this to work on Cingular 2125 or HTC Tornado. I get the same I/O error.

Thanks,

Robert
