I specifically want the speed/flexibility of UMTS. I'm comfortable enough getting a phone unlocked, so is the very cheapest way forward to buy the phone on T-Mobile's Web'n'Walk for £100 plus contract and then get one of the Vodafone or Orange UMTS datacards with the 1gb / £45/month deal, and transfer the uSIM? Would that even work? I can always then use the T-Mobile sim in my 'voice' phone. Are there any better deals buying the phone with a UMTS contract directly? A USIM is a SIM that works with UMTS (3G) and if you bought a 3G phone it will have come with a USIM, if not then you probably just have a SIM which is not 3G compatable. As they give 3G as part of it's spec I believe they should? What have other contributors found? How could I tell if I have a USIM? There is no documentation supplied with it to indicate that. I don't live near a 3G coverage area so couldn't check it (unless Milton Keynes has it) - didn't want to find out in 2 months time I had been supplied with the wrong thing. Where have you found the t-mobile £7.50/month deal? Yet again I could find nothing about it in the brochure!! In fact T-m rarely refer to 3G/UTMS in any of the sales literature I have read - at one stage I wondered whether they had it!!! Guest sporkguy Posted March 19, 2006 Report Share Posted March 19, 2006 clive: the '450 route' means you call 450 off the handset, and follow the options to 'buy an extra' - where you may/may not find the unlimited GPRS bundle. As for the £7.50 Tmob GPRS deal - it is rumoured to launch on the first of next month - so fingers crossed for all of us considering jumping ship on 1/4/06 ;) (and I assume the bundle will cover 3G as part of the bundle, as its pretty much the same sort of setup) Hope that helps.
