Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 14, 2006 Report Share Posted March 14, 2006 What ROM did you try to use? are you trying to upgrade with a SMART Rom? With later SAP ROMs they played with the bootloader to make it hard to use other manufacturers ROMs. Have you tried re-installing the origianl ROM you started with before updating? Guest loner_am_i000 Posted March 15, 2006 Report Share Posted March 15, 2006 its ROM version 1.37,my previous ROM is 1.7,and my bootloader version is 1.9,i just gto the upgrade software from a cd rom that i bought, i just tried to upgrade my phone but it didnt upgrade my phone instead it just reads an error which says " can not read ROM",there ive tried to upgrade again and again but it just come up with the same error........ also my phone is just stuck on bootloader mode..... what i like to happen is that my phone would on normally and function normally like it does so i could use it again, it doesnt matter for me now if i cant upgrade my phone what matter for me now is that i can use my phone,so please help...... what would i do? Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 15, 2006 Report Share Posted March 15, 2006 You need to download the 1.8 ROM from SMART, the SMART ROM version you started with was designed to stop people downgrading easily. It's a shame that you bought the very old 1.37 update as I am sure it can still be downloaded from older web sites. I presume you were trying to SIM unlock your phone to use it on another network? To get the phone up and running again try the latest ROM from smart which can be found in the link below. http://www.smart.com.ph/SMART/Products/Sma...P_downloads.htm Run the update from the bootloader.
