how exactly do you mean?

you want to get rid? you cant - just don't use it, simple as that really ;)

if you explain more, perhaps we can help you.

why do you need to remove it? What is the reason? ;)

Apologies for being obtuse (although I am not sure my original posting was read correctly!)

Confucious is right T-Mob do not supply MSN Messenger and I DO want it.

Microsoft are charging for the Mobile version of Messenger - not sure why when the PC version is free - seems like we are being victimised. On my other PC's I have a couple of different IM clients which support MSN however I can't seem to find anything similar for WM. I have found a jabber client which, with the right gateway, will give access to MSN however these gateways seem to be tricky to track down or unreliable.

Well that's what I have found in the few days I have been looking around. Given the expertise on this forum I guess someone has found good solutions as well as ones to avoid.

Thanks

Clive

I thought the T-Mob phones didn't come with messenger anyway?

really? tmob dont supply it? that sux !!!

so really no point on their new unlimited web 'n' walk plan then

Strange how O2 and Orange both provide it but it's not going to put me off T-Mob's new plan as I'll be using the USIM in my Exec ;)

[i've never tried it myself but Agile Messenger's supposed to work with MSN, Yahoo, ICQ and others. You can already get it for WM2003SE on PPC and the site says they're about to bring out a WM5.0 version for PPC too.

You can get the downloads from http://www.agilemobile.com/downloads.html

I'm pretty sure its free too

Ah, OK. I only asked because I spent a day or so wondering where the Messenger app was and only stumbled across it.

I can vouch for Agile Messenger, it unifies all your mobile messaging apps and is certainly free.

It certainly used to be free but I'm sure that I read somewhere that it's now a 7 day trial, then you have to pay.

Can anyone confirm (or deny) this?

[Edit] I have jus checked on their site and it doesn't say one way or the other! - it does say that it's not WM5 compatable though.

An alternative (that you do have to pay for) that is WM5 compatable, is IM+ [/Edit]

Argh! No! Damn you Microsoft!

You can download it, install it, but then it tells you you have to register at mobile.msn.com where it tells you you have to pay £10.99

Grrr.
