Pocket Outlook Task Viewer

img-171192-1145902309_thumb.jpg

Category: Tools - Productivity

File Version: 1.0.1.0

File License: General License

Description:

Sorts by category, supports updating, creation, deletion, completion, and editing of Pocket Outlook tasks.

The task viewer that comes with Windows Mobile 5 doesn't show task categories, doesn't support new task creation, and has a weak task editor. I make fairly heavy use of tasks so I wrote one that did what I want.

Sorts by category, supports updating, creation, deletion, completion, and editing of Pocket Outlook tasks.

Depends upon msft compact framework 2.0 available from: <http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9655156b-356b-4a2c-857c-e62f50ae9a55&DisplayLang=en>

James,

I saw this on your website the other day. I have a SPV C550 (WM 2003). I get error messages saying that NET Compact framework is not compatible with my phone when I try to install.

On the microsoft site it says:

Supported Device Operating Systems: Windows Mobile Software for Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0 for PocketPC and Smartphone, Windows CE .NET 5.0 and higher.

Is Task Viewer compatible with compact framework 1.x?

It's a compact framework 2.0 app so you need to install CF2 avaible from <http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9655156b-356b-4a2c-857c-e62f50ae9a55&DisplayLang=en>. I haven't tried installing CF2 on WM2003 so, on that one, I don't know.

That's not quite correct. Task Viewer is a .net compact framework 2.0 application but, even though your device has 1.0 installed, you can install 2.0. The install location is: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en.

I'm using a T-Mobile SDA which comes with CF1.0. Installing 2.0 is all you need. Go to the msft website and install the 2.0 compact framework (no charge) and it'll all run great.

You can installed the CF2.0 whether running WM5 or WM2003.

Could you please explain in detail what you did to get TaskViewer working.

I have the SDA, too.

Installed NETCFv2.wce4.ARMV4.cab from the CF v2 SP1 package and TaskViewer still gives me an error message:
