Has anyone got the GPRS/MMS on an Orange SPV C500 or equivalent to work on O2 or Tesco PAYG?

Have been following all the settings detailed on www.filesaveas.com with no success.

Please help.

Thanks!

You may have sorted this already but I've managed to get it working okay.

Here's the settings I have:

Create a new Proxy Data Connection

Call it Tesco Proxy

Connects From: The Internet

Connects To: WAP Network

Proxy: 193.113.200.195:8080

Type: HTTP

Leave Username and Password Blank

Create a new GPRS Data Connection

Call it Tesco GPRS WAP

Connects To: The Internet

Access Point: prepay.tesco-mobile.com

Username: tescowap

Password: password

Leave Primary/Secondary and IP Address Blank

Make sure that on the main Data Connections screen, Internet Connection and WAP Connection and set to Tesco GPRS WAP

Give that a go!!

Thanks cbell.

I tried what you suggested but whenever I try to browse to a site I get "The page cannot be displayed".

Is your phone ex-Orange? What software version are you running?

I am on:

Version 4.21.1088 (Build 15045.2.6.0)

Operator: 4.2.1.1

I may have forgotten one other item to get over the page cannot be displayed problem... this is typical Internet Explorer really.

Go into Internet Explorer on the SPV

Click the Menu button and then select Options

Move down to the Connections item and select it

Untick the 'Automatically Detect Settings' box

In the select network section, choose 'WAP Network'

Click Done and then Done and try accessing the web again.

I've just got my phone and it was ex-orange. Software wise, here's what I've got:

Version 4.21.1088 (Build 15045.2.6.0)

Operator: 4.2.1.4

So we are very similar.

I just wanted to add my thanks to this thread.

It's taken me ages to get mms working on my C550 and I actually gave up for a while. I've just revisited this page and now it works! :(

I suspect Tesco hadn't activated something their end as the only thing different now, compared to a month ago, is I have contacted them via email to confirm I have MMS enabled on my SIM. They replied in the affirmative and wow, bizarre, it now works.
