Guest ScottS
Just downloaded the Beta of Windows Media Player 11 today and, it seems, Microsoft are still having problems with Smartphone sync. I very occasionally managed to get WMP10 to sync, but WMP11 doesn't seem to want to work at all. I'm currently running the 4.2 beta of ActiveSync. Anyone got any ideas as to how I could solve this problem? Thanks, Scott
Guest nomis
seems to be working fine for me so far, the only problem i ever encounted when trying to sinc with wmp is if i connected the device before starting media player, as force of habit i haven't tried it the other way round with the beta, try this and then if that doesn't work you could try contacting the phone manufacturer because it seems its more liekly to be a fault on the phone then then player
Guest Paul (MVP)
Syncing is fine for me in WMP11... better than in WMP10! P
Guest ScottS
WMP11 has now decided that it doesn't even want to recognise my phone... It just says Connect a Device... Paul: What device are you using to sync with? I'm wondering if this is a problem with WM2003SE as I guess you've got a WM5 device by now ;) Scott

Guest fuzzywuzzy
I have an T-Mobile MDA Vario and the sync function works great with the new WMP11 beta. The only problem I have with it is that it only offers 64kbps, 128kbps, 160kbps and 192kbps for transcoding to my storage card. I know re-encoding an encoding file is pretty bad but most of my albums are ripped at high bitrates with Lame and all I want is to be able to re-rip my music to 96kbps as that is a better trade off compared to 64kbps, which frankly sounds awful. I've searched through the registry but haven't had any luck on which key to change. I know that I can use DBPowerAmp and various other programs to do the same task but I just want to be able to use WMP11 as I have been using it only a few days and found it to be exactly what I wanted in a player. Does anyone know how to enable this function?

Guest ScottS
I found a solution to the syncing problem last night! Basically when I first plugged my Smartphone in, it didn't come up with the options box that it should have done, asking me how I wanted to sync the devide: automatically or manually. So what I needed to do was click the drop down on the sync tab, select the device and then click Set Up Sync. Then it was just a case of selecting manual and pressing finish. Job Done! Guest phil12345
it doesnt seem to work with my c550, whereas in wmp10 it worked fine. i also have an archos av500, when set to 'windows device' it crashes the pc. when set to 'hard drive' it works fine. hopefully fixed in final release....
