The HTC Wizard variant (which it has now been confirmed will NOT be called the MDA Vario II) is set for release August.

There is no planned release for a HTC Prophet variant release during Q3.

The HTC Breeze variant under an SDA branding will be released in July.

These are the UK releases. :)

Do you mean the Hermes is to be released in August?

i.e. the 3G version of wizard/vario with keyboard/micro-SD, samsung 400mhz processor, etc

Praise the lord !! The Hermes is coming to T-mobile !!! :)

But why couldn't they release it in June FFS !!! Don't they know my contract expires in May !! :)

Fleabag, do you know if T-mobile will be having any cool contract deals in August ..... like the sweet 25% off for life they had before ??

OK - time to keep an eye on Micro SD prices ..... ;)

Firstly, yes I did mean Hermes hehe. Not sure where Wizard came from. :)

It's pipeline info that just came my way, I'm a WNW rep. As usual with anything I post here it can be confirmed via CS.

Perf: Unfortunately I'm not subject to marketing info so far in advance. I know you can get WNW free for 3 months on new connections soon (it may have started already).

I've heard whispers the Breeze and Hermes variants may even be released for upgrade stock (i.e. not advertised online due to low volume availability) as early as July 1st. Although with all release dates it will usually be pushed back a few days.

Assuming T-Mobile will have stock of the Hermes devices by say mid-July when would you expect other companies to put their variants on sale?

By this I mean when will imate and Qtek start shipping their Hermes based devices? Around the same time or later?

Anyone care to comment on my above question?

b-b, when you get the hermes your data se will increase significantly as it has 3G. T is the only way to go. The only reasons for not being with T are a) more money than sense or b)You are one of the unlucky few that doesn't have reception on T.

Good luck.

I already have 3G on my XDA Exec.

a) Definitely not true, hence my lack of bill payment this month. gotta make it up next month.

:) Got reception.

It's c) Waiting on this device and then letting my O2 contract lapse into uselessness for the remainder of the six months.

Or, of course, someone else pays your bills.

My company have a corporate deal with Orange, however, I also maintain a personal account with T, so I can (1) use 3G (my current Orange SIM is only GPRS enabled) and (2) pick my own handset. As we're about to take shipment of 3G enabled Orange SPV M3100's at work (aka HTC Hermes), I'm unsure how much I'll be using my T account any more.

You are, of course, right. Orange are AFAIK the only company who will not upgrade your 2G SIM to a USIM, which is why I had to take another contract out with them in November to get a USIM.

The Hermes does look nice, if tou've got that and your company pay the bill you should be laughing. I just hope the don't restrict your data usage when they realise how much it costs!

You are about to take shipment? Are these devices out there in the wild for purchasing already? When can we expect delivery??

was wandering past my local t-mobile shop today, and popped in as they were standing around looking bored, and asked them if they have heard anything on release dates.

they said that they dont expect the vario ii (hermes) for ages yet, as the original vario hasnt been given an "end of life" date yet - and he doesnt think t-mob will release the new model until the old version has been deprecated.

cant t-mobile hurry up, i'm getting desperate!!

I wouldn't let the Vario still being on sale make you think the Vario II isn't round the corner. When the Compact II hit the scene, aside from it being a complete surprise and snuck out without fanfare, it was sold alongside the original MDA Compact for a good time.
