Im wondering if anyone can help me?

Ive got an m500. Yesterday i shut down my pc while the m500 was still connected and activesync would have been running.

Now after my pc shut down and i realised my m500 was still connected i unplugged the usb cable and tried to switch the m500 on. it wouldnt. i soft reset it by removing the back cover and it started up very slowly.

ive soft reset it loads of time now but still my m500 is running like ive got like 90 applications running at once. Its more or less became unusable.

Ive tried to connect to my pc again via activesync but it just times out.

so there is 2 possibilities (i think). either something in my m500 got fried or part of the os is messed up.

Im moving house at the moment and ive packed away my instruction manual so does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or tell me a way to save all my contacts onto my SD card and how i can hard rest the m500.

thanks in advance.

If it is on Orange there is a program called xbackup (maybe on all magicians, I dunno) which will save all your contacts and appointments onto the SD card, may run a bit slow but will be worth the wait before you hard reset and loose everything, My M500 runs slow sometimes but I use the small reset button on the bottom of the phone to reset it (stick the stylus in the small hole in the bottom right) but I wouldn't see that making any difference?

i found xbackup yesterday. unfortunatly when i went to back up everything it said there was an error with a activesync file. i hard reset my phone and when i went to install the back up it said it was corrupt. I assume there was a problem with activesync. luckely id also backed up my contacts seperatly. Just need to reinstall all other software now.

my phone is now running noticable faster and im now getting missed call/msg icons at the top of the screen. something i never got before. i always wondered why the phone didnt have anything to show a missed call other than going into the missed call list.

i generally soft rest my phone after ive been running mortplayer or whatever and im gonna use something else, as most things just dont seem to completly shut down or everythings shut down but it still shows the memory as being full.

Hold down the power button and reset the phone with your stylus at the same time but you will loose all the orange extended files too - you can download these again through this forum.
