MARKUKCOUK you have woken up the terror that is msmobiles lol
http://blogs.msmobil...honefan/?p=2326

You can now say you are famous :)

tee hee - I wonder if he's worked out I am "clublander" from the MSMobiles board who just throws new and innovative insults everytime he spouts garbage?

To be fair though its an interesting point. But personally - whereas 1 gig would annoy the hell out of me on a desktop - I can't see me ever hitting 1 gig on my phone. On my laptop and datacard maybe, but not my phone, not even with streaming.

So to me - its unlimited.

Side note: I'd much prefer Orange to say "heres 1 gig for 6" than the old "6 gets you unlimited, but if you go over 10 meg we may charge you if we feel like it"

The only thing I hate about Orange, is that I'm never 100% confident that its gone on. The world cup bundle wap site says I have it... but do I risk streaming media on it? Hmm

You can buy a sim-only tariff and pay 17.50 a month with the Web N Walk Pro bundle attached to your account. Or Even save yourself 2.50 by going with the 'normal' WnW bundle.

You can get a SIM only deal with no contract for 7.50, which comes with 50 free minutes a month. You can then add the unlimited data tariff, either 7.50 for phone use or 10 for phone and laptop. So for 15 a month you can have unlimited data on your handset and a bonus 50 minutes. Bit frustrating to have to change SIM cards, but I am planning to do this next month since you can stop the contract at any point!

well I'd put my orange contract down to minimum and not use it basically.

If they still pricematch with OVP then the cheapest used to be 13.99 for 750 off peak orange minutes (pricematched from tmobile)

maybe I'll need a 3G datacard though to make most use of it?

OK, I'm gonna hijack my own thread now :)

Is this good then...

http://www.tmobile.c...ones_im_wnw_pro

Basically... 18 month contract, free card, web and walk at 19.99 a month, free 12 months wifi hotspot pass.

Also, is the no-streaming small print stuff that people have moaned about really an issue?

Finally, could I take the sim out of the laptop card, stick it in a SPV and use the (presumably included) GPRS access on that?

I've already defected to T-Mobile. I rang up to get the PAC and the rep said I could have the phone for nowt, they would match the T-Mobile Flext tarrif, and he would give me 1Gb free for 3 months, but as I use around 800mb a month it does not really cut it.

The W&WPro stuff is a godsend gives me data connectivity at up to 350Kb anywhere.....

I like Orange (with them for 8 years or so), but unless they sort out there data packages people are going to walk, both mine and my wife's are now on T-Mobile...... She loves e-mail on the move :)

Oh yeah, I've been streaming Radio1 over the data (GPRS/3G) using Real1 and it's not bad. They have not asked me to cease and desist either yet, so who know's. Perhaps it's only if you take the michael......

still debating whether it is worth the move... currently on 750xnet minutes anytime and 240 texts/month for 35 with Orange. Could do with having cheap data too... but not sure about whether the move to T will be cheapest for voice. Quite often end up with bills in the 150 region as I use up a lot of voice minutes....

any thoughts?

will need to have a bit of a dig around on the old t mobile website...

But does this Orange 1GB package for 6 mean you can use the 1GB for anything like streaming video?

It would seem so :)

....unlimited GPRS....

which is intended / sold as access to World Cup data etc. I haven't seen any small print (yet) :)

The OCS rep gladly signed me up knowing full well I had an SPVC550. So far, I've had no problems - billing day will arrive shortly so I'll see what happens then.....:)

EDIT: Having read the info on the link posted, I reckon it's the "247" text link that's not available to SPV and Treo users.

You should read your post :)

The TEXT service is unavailable, but the rest is. In fact, the text service does work, but the wallpaper they are supposed to send, does NOT work.

Maybe he wanted to highlight the 1GB PAYM and 15MB PAYG limits, rather than the SPV issue?

Right-o. I've now had a text from O to say my 'package is now in place'. As far as I was concerned it was 'in place' right away. The text included a link to my 'free wallpaper' which led me to a page on Orange World which couldn't identify me and advised I refresh or try later. Neither has worked and they still can't identify me.

However, no sooner had I received this text, I was off to browse Orange World and check out Frank Lampard's diary. Same problem - the system won't recognise my device's id and won't allow access to any decent ( :) ) content.

All was well before they acknowledged the package. I still have web access to other sites etc but O's systems seem to be having some 'bovver' :)
