Dual Sim

Has anyone had any sucess with a dual sim adaptor. I have tried the Ghost sim, which is the one with two sim's cut out into the carrier. It has a tiny chip at the end of it. I put the sim's in and tried it with my Qtek 8310/sp5 and this worked. It would swap over by using the Flight mode. However I have managed to get it to start with the Prophet but when I changed it over it came up the trusty message NO SIM/ INVALID SIM.

Does anyone have any ideas?

All I can think is that the contact between adaptor and sim is really poor.

Hi

Good luck. I have tried the dual sim where you cut out the 2 sims and put them in this holder, I get the same, it is nothing to do with the contact, its just not compatible. I have tried a sim reader with a 12 in 1 sim, the idea being that you can put the data from up to 12 sims on the one card and put this in the phone. The problem is many modern Simcards lock themselves after so many passes by the scanner rendering them useless. This happened to my orange sim and i had to pay for a replacement (this was due to the fact I couldn't give them the sim number as I had cust most of it away trying to use the preciously mentioned 2 in one cut Sim adapter!!)

I don't think anyone has succesfully used 2 Sims in this the M600. It would be nice if the next version of this device actually came with 2 sim slots. That would be very handy.

If you do find a way, let me know :)

I couldn't tell you what brand it is as the packaging was all in Japanese

But it was a listed as GHOST Dual Sim which I got from Here:

http://www.m-99.co.uk/Mobile_Phone_Twin_SI...m_adapters.html

to suit the C600.

Might be best to ask first before buying.

Its the model where you cut the Chip out of the center of tha card so you can fit two int the one SIM.

You can get the proper cutting tool from MOBILEFUN.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that, very helpful.

I have to say though that I'm slightly nervous about hacking my sim cards about!

Before I buy this, have you had any problems at all with the adapter? Are both your SIMs Orange cards? And what if you wanted to use them on their own again without the adapter? There is mention of an adapter to convert them back...have you used this?

Has anyone else managed to get any dual SIM adapters to work without cutting the chips out of the SIM cards?

Hi,

One of my Sims is o2 and the other vodafone.

Each kit comes with two Plastic SIM size adapters with a hole in it and a self adhesive backing.

I had to use one to put my work sim back in another phone and it worked fine. ;)

It's well worth seeking out the cutting tool rather than using scissors.

If you knacker a SIM then it'll usually cost a tenner from your service provider for a new one. :(

Backup any data you have on your sim first obviously.

There are other adapters out there that have a thin Ribbon connecting two full size SIMS with a third SIM size card that goes in the SIM slot.

However, I don't know if there is sufficient space in the back of these handsets to allow the extra thickness between the battery and the Cover. Sometimes this can put too much pressure on the fone casing and worst case stress the screen.

Its worth asking all the questions of the suppliers before making a purchase, to be sure they send you the best to suit the application. :)
