Downgrade to C500?

Hi All,

Just wondering what would be the main differences if i were to downgrade to a c500 as a result of my 4th replacement c550 on its way tomorrow.

i already know about the screen, but in terms of software / hardware performance, is there any real difference between the two?

thanks

K

Personally, I wouldn't go for the 500. I hate and detest that horrid 'rocker-switch' thingy. The internals are comparible WM2003SE and processor (I think) and the screen is entirely different, as you've said.

Can't you swing an 'upgrade' to the 600, if you've got problems with a series of faulty 550's, can't you go up-hill due to the inconvenience endured? I managed to swap a series of dodgy E100's for an E200 many moons ago, so it is possible.

Try to hold out for the C600 :)

The C550 has more memory and a newer (read better) processor. Gotta agree with pd.ryder that you should upgrade rather then downgrade even if the C500 still is a fantastic device (form factor and battery life still enviable today!).

wahey!!

just off the phone with orange and i'm recieving a change of handset replacement tomorrow morning.

basically i mentioned that i this would be replacement number 4 and that would it be possible to have a different handset. I also mentioned that whatever new handset i get would only be a 'stop gap' until the c600s get back in stock ( :) ).

They said that their is a specific template that must be adhered to when changing a handset during a replacement and that it is based on the replacement being of the same technical 'range' as my current phone.

Hey presto, c600 :)

they are replacing the handset, battery and giving me a user guide. i have to keep my headset and memory card.

good call chaps, pd.ryder, i hope you're right chum

Yup this is exactly what I did with my constanst C550 replacements! I demanded an upgrade so they offered me a C600.

Sorry to scare you but the C600 appears to still have that DAMN! joystick fault.
