I have used WAV files as a ring tones with no problem but I cannot see anyway to use them as alerts for voicemail and SMS messages. I could do this with my C500 so hopefully the 'much more advanced' M600 has this capabilty hidden away somewhere!

Fingers crossed for positive replies.

Cheers,

Simon

Yes, you can

Ringtones go in \Windows\Rings

Message tones go in \Windows

If the new tone doesnt appear in the list of available tones, or it doesn't play when it should, then it's probably in the wrong format

PCM WAV works, but I don't know how I got mine into that format. Might have been something basic like Media Player

Chucky.egg - oooh! that's encouraging news! So i just drop the WAV file into that folder

and it should be hey presto ? I'm not a techie Doom playing phone trainer type so I trsut this is straight forward stuff :)

Just to confirm that Mr. egg is entirely correct and this solved my problem (no surprise really but credit where it's due ;) ).

I'd only add for those lurking sliently but nonetheless interested, this is of course far easier using Active Sync i.e. you have your two folders up on the screen and you drag the wav file you want from one t'other.

Thanks again Mr. egg and MoDaCo -the world is once agin a happier place :)
