Guest hotphil
I needed to shoot a video clip with my Vario. I knew that avi's were more compatible than 3gp's so I shot it as an avi. It plays fine on the Vario, but if I copy the file to my PC, Media Player just gives me the sound. Do I need something else?

Guest hotphil
ah yes. I reformatted a while back and must not have reinstalled it yet. can you tell I don't do a lot of video work? :-)
Guest hotphil
Ok, I reinstalled DivX - no go. Says the file contains unsupported video data, "FOURCC code "MJPG"". So I downloaded a couple of extra codecs and still no joy. I thought recording as avi on the phone would make things easier! Anyone know which codec I need? My aim is to convert the file to a wmv and stick it on a website, is there another method I could try (some kind of on-the-phone conversion)? Guest hotphil
Cheers for that. I did try the codecs mentioned above. And my work PC seems to play it OK. I'll see how I get on with whatever gspot tells me when back at home. If not, I'll have to install some conversion software on my work PC. IT will love me... Guest hotphil
You're a genius. Thanks gerryr. I hadn't even thought Movie Maker would be on my PC. All converted and uploaded now. If you're interested it what you helped me with, it's a clip of me using my Heelys that some of my friends doubted I'd be able to use - http://www.zen28352.zen.co.uk/2006/07/doubts.html
Guest adchaffey
http://www.zen28352.zen.co.uk/2006/07/doubts.html Just thought i'd let you know the video works on the home page of your site, but not the page listed above. Looking at the code, I think it's because the relative link to the video is incorrect in the page above, but correct from the home page. Don't want to sound like a [insert appropriate word here] but thought you might want to know!
