Here's how I finally set my Qtek 8500 up for GPRS and MMS on Orange UK:
Start > Settings > Connections > GPRS
Create a connection called Orange GPRS with the following settings:
Connect To: The Internet
Access Point: Orangeinternet
Primary DNS: 158.43.192.1 [you may find that 0.0.0.0 also works]
Secondary DNS: 158.43.128.1 [again 0.0.0.0 may work]
All other fields blank.
Then Done and back to the GPRS menu. Create a connection called Orange MMS as follows:
Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: Orangemms
User name: Orange
Password: Multimedia
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
All other fields blank
Then Done and back to the GPRS menu. Create a connection called Orange WAP as follows:
Connects to: WAP Network
Access Point: Orangewap
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
All other fields blank.
Press Done twice to return to the Connections menu. Click on Proxy. Create an entry called Orange WAP Proxy. Settings:
Connects from: WAP Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy: 192.168.71.35
Type: WAP
All other fields blank.
Press Done twice then click Dial-up (this may not actually be needed). I have an entry called Orange CSD WAP which is as follows:
Connects to: The Internet
Phone number: +447973100500
User name: Orange
Password: Multimedia
All other fields blank.
Press Done twice then click Menu > Advanced
All fields set to Automatic.
Return to the Home Screen then Start > Messaging > MMS > Menu > Options > Account Options > MMS > Menu > MMSC Settings. Create or edit the existing entry as follows (call it Orange UK or Orange MMS):
MMSC URL: http://mms.orange.co.uk/
WAY Gateway: 192.168.224.10
Port: 8080
Connect via: WAP Network
Max Sending Size: 300K
WAP Version: Version 2.0
And I think that's it! You may see slightly different settings elsewhere, but these are the ones that finally worked for me!
