Guest fr0st
I'm looking for a GPRS Monitor solution that actually works on the Qtek 8500. I've tried both Efficasoft and SPB, and have even received a beta SP1 copy of SPB's GPRS monitor, but none of them work. Has anyone had any luck with thsi? I have that and also have a weird problem, when I goto the section to select the connection to monitor there is no option to say "select" the action button does nothing and the prog acts as if you didn't select a connection (which you didnt) is this the same prob your having? gR

With the SP1 version that SPB sent me I am able to select a connection to monitor, but it doesn't actually do anything. No matter what I do over GPRS it always shows 0 kb usage. Guest fr0st
Meh, being cheap I just wanna see a free one. I'm cheap too. That's why I'm willing to pay for one that works. The cost of exceeding my data plan far exceeds the minor cost of a piece of software ($5-$15).

I have the same problem. I received the SP1 from SPB but not any option seem to be working... 0 Kb In my area the 8500 could connect via EDGE. Could be this the issue? Or the phone should be unlocked? Same problem with efficasoft software. Edited July 27, 2006 by Kilo

Guest Hotas
Hi folks, you can make the Spb monitor run following this description (in German...): click Short summary: most important thing is the connection to be monitored: Create a new key (since it is non existent after installation): "HKLM\Software\Spb Software House\GPRSMonitor\Profiles\1 connectionentry=Swisscom GPRS > String Value, where "Swisscom GPRS" is the name of my GPRS connection" Check out the registry print out in the link and play a little bit with your settings. It is for advanced users but maybe someone can help you. I only changed the connection key and it works fine. The tariff option DO HAVE an OK button on my WM5 Qtek 8310 which has been helpful :) I contacted Spb and they promised me to track these issues. I will report if there are any news. btw: Efficasoft's monitor is not an option for me since the tariff options are to poor and so the calculated data is not correct in the real world. Guest fr0st
Create a new key (since it is non existent after installation): "HKLM\Software\Spb Software House\GPRSMonitor\Profiles\1 connectionentry=Swisscom GPRS > String Value, where "Swisscom GPRS" is the name of my GPRS connection" Unfortunately this key already exists for me, using SPB GPRS Monitor SP1, and is set to the right connection... however it's still not monitoring the connection. You said you were using this on a Qtek 8310... it seems something's changed on the 8500, as it's just not working. :)

EDIT: ooops, did not read your posting correctly, sorry... Another (probably stupid) question: did you mark the entries under "homescreen"? I can't imagine that they changed something from 8310 to 8500 but who knows... Edited July 31, 2006 by Hotas
Guest Kilo
No news with 8500? I still can't monitor my gprs/edge traffic..... :D
Guest roma0803
Hmm... same here. On my SP5m it works flawlessly but on my 8500 it shows no date. The right connection is selected. Thought it was my error since I stumbled upon this thread. I'll contact SPB too and see what happens. I've had very good experiences with their support so far. Guest fr0st
W00t! Just tried it out and it works! Did an Exchange ActiveSync (no changes) and it logged 7.9KB. Looks like we finally have a solution.
