Well your first post is the reason I'm on the phone to O now begging them for free data, so well done! :)

I'm sure I'm going to regret this but it looks like I might be staying with O... *eek!*

How much data do I need if I really want to hammer this unit?

Well I was tempted to go to t-mobile for web'n'walk but i figured that everywhere I use data i have a wifi connection so I dont really need unlimeted data.

That and the fact I'm too impatient to wait for t-mobile to release it :)

Most folks with 3G devices seem to think that they get through significantly more data as a result of the higher speed. Based on that I'd say most peeps usuage will approach 100meg on just moderate browsing and email use (that is, assuming they don't have to worry about the cost, something that it seems Orange customers are going to have to continue to do for a while!)

GAAAH! They won't give me any free data! And again with the lack of knowledge of unlimited data bundle...

They didn't even ring me back to offer me anything. I suppose I'll have to ask for my PAC code or something to get a rise out of them?

It would help if I knew how much data I will reasonably use in a month, what's the likely average? I wouldn't be downloading anything, just basic emailing, some googling and a bit of other random surfing, also probably a fair bit of remote desktop to work.

Love to know what you guys download , i only use the internet for checking modaco , windows live mobile ( ppc ) and updating the fizz application , if iam home i would rather use a laptop than a small phone and then i use my own wifi , the only thing i can think of is you lot must be downloading something your not allowed to if you need that much data if not what do you use that requires such a high need :)

Well, in truth on my MDA Compact II (my data device on old Web N Walk 40meg) I rarely get near 30meg but then I don't use email much. I'm sure my usuage WOULD increase if I got a 3G/HSDPA device though....

This is true... I wish TMob would pull their finger out so at least I have a choice! The waiting is killing me! Although I'm still going to miss my M500...

My deal is an old yourplan one from a couple of years ago that I just renew, maybe thats why.

As far as i know the unlimited bundle only covers the orange content and not regular browsing anyway.

Just then.

the unlimited data thing is a bit of a struggle.. the best thing to do is get the device, and then call them back and tell them the url if they cannot find it : http://www.orange.co.uk/ow1

remember that this isn't a bundle you can take off - once it is on, you are committed for the rest of your contract.

The key things there are:

1) I'm not a Panther/Premier customer

2) What do they mean by Orange World? What level of service is that?

3) What do they mean by WAP? Given that no-one can seem to decide what it actually means...
