Orange logo removal

Who's going to be the first one to attempt removal of the O logo? :)

Not me this time, although I think it ruins the look of the front of the device, the surface definitely doesn't look 'sugar cube friendly' :D

Anyone? ;)

I think the pics did the device justice. I saw Vodafone's version yesterday and was delighted when my m3100 turned up today. The mixture of black, grey and silver really works and the SPV M3100 font used is very smart. As a result I am proud to carry a device with a little Orange square on it.

Oh yes, I would agree that Orange have by far the nicest looking Hermes variant so far.

For me tho, the Orange square below the curved top just looks, well, 'odd' :)

Got the O logo removed with the 'sugar cube' method, no problem, but can't get rid off the 'SPV' & 'M3100'!!! Anyone managed to remove them?

I really don't know why you'd want to, but each to their own.

I can kinda understand the orange bit - but the spv m3100 looks good!

Agreed.

Bugs the hell out of me a bit that the space between '2.0' and 'mega' on the back is smaller than it should be based on the gap between 'mega' and 'pixels' and 'pixels' and 'camera'.

Hell, i'm just weird :)

Definitely. A TyTN arrived on my doorstep this morning... interesting comparing the two atm.

The M3100 is definitely way prettier, but the TyTN wider-spaced button layout is more usable.

Agreed!

I would have noticed that too though! (if I had one, *mumble, grumble*) :)

Used to have a M500 and had the logo and text removed and it looked nice, just wants to do the same with the M3100.

To be honest, not that of a big deal coz it is a great device, everthing that a M5000 can do and the size of the M500. Love it! :)

Now I'm waiting for a replacement hopefully with built-in GPS!

I didn't notice it either Paul , but now that you've pointed it out. It is annoying.

Be very careful removing the logo, rub gently or you may end up with a scratch.

:)

P (logoless with very slight scratch!)

Is the surface underneath the logo metal or plastic? The recent orange stuff has a lacquer coat over the silkscreen as well, making it more resistant to sugarcubes and fibreglass pencils and plastic don't go well together!

Nevermind, I'm sure I'll have casings soon anyway...besides, I'm sure you can ask orange to swop it out ;-)?

As an aside, anyone ever sent a logo removed orange device back for warranty service? Did they say anything?

Oh, it's perfectly fine, the scratch is super super tiny that even my totally obsessive mind can cope with it.

Now I wish I could have a MoDaCo-white Hermes :)

Next MoDaCo event? :)

Had a go with one of these in the shop, absolutely loved it :( Really tested my resolve to wait until the MDA Vario II :D

I cannot wait for my phone to arrive, does the suger cube work? do you just need to rub it on the logo very gently?

Hi Guys,

So, after registering here a while back and forgetting my details i thought i'd register again to add my two cents. With regards to the logo-removal issues, every phone i've ever had has been with orange, going on about 6 years now, and on every one of them i've hated the orange logo. My trick to removal, a good old fashioned 2p Coin! Granted you have to be careful, but its worked a charm on other phones i've had.

My new device is on its way, I decided to go with the TyTn, simply because someone else paid for it, and i wanted an OS that wasnt overrun with Orange branding. I'm hoping it'll do me proud.

Anyway, thats all i've got.

All the best,

Ollie
