After months of not working out the O2 GPRS settings (O2 stated they did not support the SPV but I found they market this phone as the X PHONE is other countries!) I stumbled across a useful FREE web site that actually sends a sms direct to your phone with the correct settings:

http://www.wayfinder.../gprsconfig.php

I had to use the SPV C500 settings but these work fine!!
