Problems with IMEI-check m3100 unlock

Well, after Motin was unable to get an m3100 code for me I thought I'd try IMEI-check.

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=245558&hl=

The phone was a warranty replacement by HTC europe and sadly arrived locked to Orange as expected.

The rom version is standard and the same as my other m3100. The device can activesync, connect through MTTY, and start the flash process. When I tried to use IMEI-check's unlock after receiving the code I get a comm error after the app confirmes the IMEI and the status bar has moved 4 blips along. I have tried both version 2 and the older version 1.3 of their app on 3 machines with different USB chipsets so far, I have no sd card inserted, no antivirus or firewall ( latest try was on a clean XP pro build) and no other USB devices attached.

I will paste IMEI-checks unhelpful 'support' emails below but if anyone has any other ideas please comment...after first saying it may be due to the warranty exchange from HTC, now it's my fault as it obviously works for others according to them so I must be stooopid..or a cheater who wants his money back, despite never mentioning that to them.....

So any ideas how I get this to work as imei-check are being less than helpful - accusing me of being a 'cheater'....! And if it is a comms issue how come it can read my IMEI etc and I can flash devices on ther same machine? Do they use some special commands for their unlock?

Anyone else do unlocking for m3100's? If Motin can't get it I don't think it will be on Orange UK's list either. I've mailed HTC for some help but if anyone else can suggest something to try....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have I asked for my money back? NO. I HAVE ASKED FOR HELP.

You can reply to this in the public threads I will make about it from now on.

all just proves what me, and a few others already know - florin is a unhelpful cock who's out to get as much as possible out of the smartphone community, and sod the moral implications.

I'll answer only onces to this acusations:

First thing firsts.

WHY you didn't post the FULL story and ONLY parts of it? We asked you several time to answer some simple questions which you refused to answer. Simple as that HOW can we help someone if they don't cooperate by answering our questions? Unfortunatly we can't read minds!

The problem does not need any more explanation. Solution for all unlocking problems: Contact IMEI.-CHECK support AND ANSWER questions then you get help to solve your problems.

I myself have unlocked my Orange UK SPV m3100 without any problems through IMEI CHECK , so it does work , supplying all the information required does help as i was unable to unlock my dutch spv m3000 , after a couple of emails and all the requested info needed i got within the same day another unlocker which worked perfect .

MARKUKCOUK the 20 pounds is the price they charge if you do not want to pay then you will have to wait and hope for a free option, these free unlockers can work or brick your phone ( i lost a c500 through a free unlocker and i did not get a replacement from orange only a higher visa bill the month after ) the choice is yours

No, Florin, if you read the emails, I had previously answered the 1 question you kept repeatedly asking....

You kept asking 'have you tried different computers?' and I had already emailed 'I have tried it on a p4 fujitsu and a HP tablet PC' about 3 days earlier....

So this IS the full story...

Looks pretty well answered to me....yet keeps getting asked and apparently I didn't provide enough information...maybe they needed some other info, who knows, but I had already replied to the question about 'different' machines.

You said here on forum that was a TABLET pc, and u didn't said that in the emails to us.

The unlockers DO NOT work on ANY Tablet pc (problems with the power in the usb port!) !

You see a SMALL detail but for us is very important!

Try please on a DESKTOP or a LAPTOP runing windows XP or 2000 SP4.

Wow, so you admit you DID get that email then, even after saying I hadn't answered it and asking over and over.....?

If you read the forum you'll see I also tried it on a clean build of XP pro on a different desktop.

There are no problems with the power output from the USB of my tablet PC as I have previously measured it (it is one of the reasons I use this model and not it's successor the tc1100 ) and I manage to flash other devices inc using buzzdev's unlockers via the tablet and the mpx200 unlocker, which are notoriously fickle.

You're just grasping at any excuse rather than actually trying to help....

We try to help you, but when you don't willing to colaborate with our support team how can we be more helpfull ?

The message about laptop we read it from your post here on the forum.

So, if you want support, please colaborate (answer in details to our questions) and please use the web interface for the email so your emails arrive for sure at us. We sick of email problems (that user claiming they sent email to us and mail not riched us or customers claiming that they never received our emails).

Anyway i'll stop posting here as this is not a support forum for imei-check :D. If you want support write to us (using the web page designed for that).

Seeing as you are a modaco plus member you will have got the unlock for 18 pounds and not 20 if you used the 10% saving :D

Wow. Didn't know that! :D

Shame I can't get it to work eh? Got another 3 x m3100's to do :D

The mail problems is nothing to do with the hosting. Some providers don't like our ip class (aol, securemail , etc, etc, etc). we write to them at least once / week. Also the spam softwares (from our ISP, from client ISP, from client PC, etc, etc.).

That would only affect the mail you send if other providors don't like your IP, not the mail you (don't) recieve...

And spam software at your end causing the problem would be, er, your problem.....

I was using a web based email client (1and1) from the same PC using the same ISP that you had previously recieved mails from, after disabling the firewall so as to try to get the unlocker working so it ain't this end methinks. According to 1and1 it went fine...

I wouldn't normally post a private email on a public forum.

But I was not impressed with the fact that I was not forewarned that I might not be able to get the service from imei-check that I had paid for *before* making payment, and thought

a)others should be made aware of it

b)imei-check might read this and change it on their website

URGENT

Dear imei-check

Please can you help me - I have been using your services to unlock new pda's I supply to my customers and have been very happy with the service.

Hence, it was highly embarrassing when, yesterday, I took a new pda to a client, went onto imei-check as I have done 4 times before, paid via paypal, only to be told by email a minute after paying that I could not actually use the service that I had just made payment for 'until further verification has been received'.

Potential customers should be told of this *before* actually making payment.

If you look at my ebay rating (simonclark123), you will see that I have a 100% rating.

If a customer of yours were to reverse a paypal payment, it would surely be a case of fraud, as I am sure that your software can provide proof of your service having been provided.

I do not at present have access to a scanner, so am unable to email you a copy of my passport (if you let me know your fax number, I could fax it to you if you insist).

Please could you sort this out for me, as I am likely to have many more pda's to unlock.

Many thanks

Simon

It's not nice and his ebay feedback is testament to the fact he isn't.

With regards to IMEI-check's support, take a squizz at this thread:

However device needing unlocking is Vario 2

I'm 'verified' with imei-check now (I think they're the only ones currently able to unlock Vario 2).
