Clock resetting

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but I can't seem to find any information on it. The problem i'm having is when i remove the battery from my JAMin, even if just for a few seconds. I take the battery out briefly (just to remove the SIM) and put the battery back in straight away, but without fail, the clock reverts to February 2006. This is very annoying! Is this expected behaviour? I'm not sure if it's always done this, i've only really noticed it recently.

I don't seem to lose any other settings, programs and data all remain.

Would appreciate any advice.

I have removed the battery from my M600 before and on putting it back in the date and time stays as it was prior to the removal.

If my battery runs down and the phone turns off, my date reverts to Feb 06.

I don't know what should happen or why that happens to yours, sorry.

Sounds like the internal backup battery is dead.

It's fairly common on older devices.

I bought a used dopod 818pro. I have a similar problem though if I put the battery back fast enough, the date won't reset. Is the internal backup battery something that's user replaceable?

Any instructions out there that can show us how to fix it?

Thanks

Hmm... My JAMin's been doing the same thing lately. I had linked it to the installation of Spb Mobile shell, but a low backup battery is another alternative.

My Vario is off being repaired at the mo for the same thing, (although according to Resco the backup battery is fine) and I got this crappy LG thing to use for the time being...

How on earth do people use 'dumb' phones?

Oh the pain of it ;)
