Guest n0m4d Posted November 8, 2006 Report Share Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) Well I finally unintentionally let my battery drain down to a point where it wont charge. I have read several forum topics about this issue and its a shame that HTC or any of the suppliers don't at least mention this problem. Many of us don't have the recommended charger for the device and this problem makes a new dent in the wallet. Of coarse it is most recommended to have the proper accesories with this device. But from reading the forums many of us dont. I have solved this issue through the use of a 9V battery. Do this at your own risk. I am not sure if this will ruin your battery or not. Basically connect the positive and negative connections (from the removed battery) to the 9V in 3-5 sec intervals. I used a multimeter to attain a 3.7 charge. But about 5-10 intervals will do. It is probably better to buy a proper charger and not let your battery die. But if you dont want to wait and spend more money this has worked for me. Tried it indeed with a 9V battery and wow....it started up again and I was able to charge the phone again. Guest gendred Posted April 25, 2007 Report Share Posted April 25, 2007 Yeah - just got my Cingular 8125 and the USB cable had a note on it that said something along the lines of "if your battery is critically low use your wall charger instead of this cable" We just got a slew of these at work so I'll wait to see which idiot loses his charger and kills his battery first. Guest Webreaper Posted April 25, 2007 Report Share Posted April 25, 2007 I've done the same thing but using a butchered USB cable to get an initial charge into the battery, and it got me back up and running again.
