Orange SPV C500 now in US - need to get a SIM & unlock phone

I have an Orange SPV C500 and have just moved to the US - Orange contract has been cancelled

I want to buy a SIM and keep using the phone but it's obviously locked.

How do I unlock it if I've closed the Orange account?

I know there's a lot out there on this topic, but if someone could give me a summary I'd really appreciate it
