Guest niacin65
I moved to the Philippines about 4 years ago. Recently, I returned to the good ol' USA. While visiting Los Angeles, I was in sticker shock over the prices for prepaid sim cards. Cingular, T-Mobile and the rest were asking $50.00 or more for just the sim. Keep in mind, that here in the Philippines a Smart or Globe or Sun sim costs about 130-250 pesos, or less than 5 dollars. I was happy to discover a promo at my local 7-11 for a Nokia 1100 cellphone, (network unlocked), with a sim from a company called "Speakout". I see that they are in partnership with Cingular for service. The cost for the phone AND the sim, which included $10 worth of time, was $29.99. Not only that, but time, that you can reload at any 7-11, lasts for ONE YEAR. Of course I will never get used to having to pay for INCOMING texts and calls, since we get those free here in the RP, but just thought I woud pass on this little bargain.
