Why is it orange HAVE to plaster their logo all over the handsets they supply including their firmware just something that irrates me about them - in your face marketing

Orange brands it's handsets because it alters the software on them. This is why you'll see many Orange phones (or used to) with an "e" suffix, which is unique to that network. Things like line two, etc, require software additions which are not supplied by the original manufacturer. They also add all of the settings you require such as speeddail for answerphone, your message centre number for text messages, WAP, WEB, email (configured for the major ISPs). Phones from the other netwrks don't have this (tell me if I am wrong).
The downside is that it takes longer for Orange to release their phones than any other network (which sucks).
