I want to upgrade to an N80. currently on Orange but pee'ed off with the upgrade fee and rubbish tariffs but fancy the better tariffs offered by T-Mobile. However in a T-Mobile shop yesterday and was told they will not be doing the N80 due to not enough demand :) To be honest thought the bloke was a bit of a plank but hope he is not right.

Does anybody have any info regarding this.

cheers

Tony

Turns out he was right. They are having network compatability problems with most of the N series, the next one out is the N93.........apparently :D

Well its good to hear they'd rather put off a launch than release it and be forced to deal with the hundreds of phone calls when people's phones start screwing up :)

Kudos to tmobile.

Has anyone tried a tmobile sim in a sim-free N80 yet? Interesting to see people's experiences.

oh and 3times: welcome to the forum :)

I'd wait until at least June before you upgrade, or consider joining tmobile etc, as it is rumoured they will be releasing a new line of handsets - perhaps something you like will be in the new lineup? :D

Cheers for the reply. Looks like I will be waiting a bit longer as there's nothing else I fancy at the moment. Sticking with the SPV on an O2 OVP till then :P

If it helps anyone, I have a sim free N80 with my T-Mobile sim in. I am happy as a sandboy, with my new flext tariff and WnW after leaving Orange. The only issues I have seen have been a couple of quirks when browsing, the odd occasion I get "web content not supported" on a few web sites that I know will load. Nothing to upset anyone though. :)

Yeah that'll be the S60 browser.. its not 100% compatible with everything just yet, I used to get that error on my 6630 quite a lot, still, 3G speed makes up for the lack of compatibility :D

Might have to consider SIM free, since the phone lineup on T-Mob is pretty risible. Do you still have to sign up for 18 months if you have your own handset?
