Canadian company, Pharos Science & Applications Inc., are looking set to release a re-branded versions of Eten's X500 as the interestingly named "GPS Phone". Specs for this device are the same as the X500:
  • WM5
  • SiRF Star III GPS (with TMC)
  • FM Radio (with RDS)
  • Triband (GSM with EDGE)
  • 802.11g Wifi
  • Bluetooth 2.0
Personally, I haven't tried the Pharos navigation software so I can't tell you whether it's any good but from a quick browse of their site, they have a wide range of navigation solutions which could rival the likes of TomTom and Garmin easily.

My only question here would be who would actually be supporting the device? Would Pharos go to Eten for bug fixes and improvments or would they deal with it in-house? I wonder because, well, Eten aren't great at the whole support thing, which tends to let them down.

    More pics after the jump...
