Mines broken to.
I had my Qtek 8500 for only a couple of weeks.
I have been a pocket pc and a smartphone geek for years. I think I have had at least 15 pocket pcs, 6 or 7 smartphones and loads of other phones and I have never broken a screen.
I was playing with the phone while watching TV and the screen was fine. I closed the phone then put it on the arm of the chair and next time I picked it up the external screen was broken.
The only time it could have broken was when I flipped it closed, but surely that's not possible.
Anyway, I contacted HTC expecting them to say go away. But they said if there was no other sign of physical damage or water ingress then send it for repair and it should be covered under warrantee.
To cut a long story short after two months of arguments with them they sent mine phone back unrepaired but they were kind enough not to charge me £50 for the inspection in which the ascertained the screen was broken.
It turned out that it was customer services fault for misleading me and under no circumstances do they repair broken screens under warrantee.
Being me I'm still arguing this with them three months later.
Customer services said they would fix the phone free of charge as a good will gesture in December but it was returned unrepaired a week later saying that it wasn't covered under warrantee.
I'm getting quite annoyed.
I had hoped they would repair it so I could sell it and get something else as I'm sure it will break again, but now it's been so long, the cheap finish on the buttons has started to peel and there in no chance I'll make my money back.
