Emulators on the Dash

Hey guys I have a Tmobile Dash and I've been reading there are emulators that do work on it like the PocketSNES, PocketNesterPlus, PicoDrive, and the PocketEngine, but I cannot find any instructions on how to install it. Do you just run the setup file that comes with the compressed files or copy the files to a specific directory?

I also read that you have to install the tgetfile.dll for it to work. Same questions with this one, run the setup or do I have to copy it in a specific location?

Any help or tips I can get from those of you who have a Dash or know how to install it on a Dash would be greatly appreciated.

Once I finally do install the emulators where can I download the roms?

Thanks

Calm down dude, just post once and you'll eventually get an answer.

Hopefully you know how to install .cab files. If not, go search the forum for it.

First off, if the emulator comes in a .zip, and in that zip is just a couple files, just drag those into a folder on your phone. From there, just open the .exe and you should be good to go.

Second, the tgetfile.dll is used on masterall's emu's for save states and pocketsnes for loading roms. In any case, you'll want to have it and just type in tgetfile.dll in google and you will immediately see it for download.

And finally, as with most good and proper forums, no posting of files or links refferring to warez and roms.

Good luck!

Cool I got it. Well some of it. I installed PocketNesterPlus and the tgetfile and they both work great.

PocketSnes doesn't work though. I installed it, but when I try to playing any games the screen goes black like if its loading it, then closes. Any ideas why it does that?

I don't know if it matters, but remember I have a Dash.

I too would love to know the answer to this as I have the exact same problem. Whenever I use PocketSNES to load a game, the screen just goes black. Same with SmartSNES. It seems to be working for many other people, but I jast can't get it to work.....

Cant remember if it was pocketsnes or the other snes emulator, but I had that problem and that was because of the screen orientation.

Go to the options and set it to each different screen orientation (portrait, landscape left, landscape right) and see which one works.

I got it to work, but I have the split screen problem you might have heard of before and that is something I dont know how to fix.

If you have a dash only a few emulators support it for some reason. The best emulators such as GBACE and Pocketsnes will probably never support ithe QGVA landscape display. If it was possible Masterall would probably have fixed that problem by now. Thats why I've given up on the whole emulators on phone gig. My PSP plays them all.

The only Emulators I have been able to work properly on the Dash are the Pocketnester and Picodrive. Both of those run great. The SNES ones do NOT support the Dash. I might try out Finalburn at some point.

I have the dash and I have the Snes emulator to work on it. Final Burn also work great on the dash, Im tryn to get the GBA emu to work. For the Snes I've tested contra 3 and chrono trigger both run (no sound). Final burn I've tested Giga wing, 19xx, street fighter puzzle, and street fighter gem mini mix. Dash user need to download PocketSNES_QVGA_04_01_06.rar ( http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=Print&...38&t=232517 ) and install 1.39 not vga 1.43. Remember you need tgetfille.dll. final burn you need neo geo bios i think.... hope that helps

I tried the program on the link you posted for PocketSNES and i could not get either to work. They opened and ran fine (other than a black screen sometimes) but the screen is still stretched up to the top and only about halfway wide centered in the middle. I am using a t-mobile dash with WM6. Any ideas on how to get it working? I really need a turn based strategy on the go. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have the Dash with WM6 installed also. I got the PocketSNES emulator to work but it was all bunched up in the middle and the menu buttons are all screwy. Someone just needs to write a new emulator using the Pocket technology just for the Dash. That...or I just buy myself a better cell phone. Haha.

If you're getting an error ("Mapper Not Supported") Try going to settings and turn on the .NES file association. Then from your file explorer open the .nes file directly. This worked for me. Hope this helped someone.
