you can filter them out, but I never found a wey to keep the filter applied, so every time you re-opened contacts all the SIM ones would be showing again. In the end I had to delete all my SIM contacts :-(

Maybe this helps.
Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone and type here dword "ShowSIM"=dword:00000000
