This is all i get when i try to change my display name. anyone else have this problem?


There is now a Fix...

1. Sign into your Windows live desktop version
2. Goto Options then UNTICK 'Show my Display picture......'
3. Sign Out of desktop version...

Should be fixed on mobile device.... you can now change your display name etc...

I found that this problem was solved when I have removed my picture from desktop Windows Live Messenger. I don't know how this helps but it worked for me. Hope it will help.

thanks for the tip, that does sound weird! I will try it today or tonight..

do you know if its just 'Window Live Messenger' desktop version or will 'MSN Messenger 7' also affect it?

YES! its works... just need to sign in on Desktop Windows Live and Remove your display picture...WEIRD!!!

I tried this fix but it did not work for me, I still get the error.

Also as part of my thread... if you set your display pic with a 100px x 100px image from your phone (as it iseems to be poor at resising) you will get your display pic back.

The only way I could fix this problem was by going into my Windows Live account options (went through Hotmail Options) and remove the information there.  Removing the info in WLM didn't make any difference for me.
After I removed my picture, it sync'ed right up and I didn't have any more error messages^^
