When I view the default homescreen on my device, I get a weird pattern on the buttons home and weather buttons as shown below... it's very strange... anyone else seen something similar?

hi,

mine also has some color diferences in the home and weather button.
but not the ones in your other pictures.
It seems to me that it's the jpg image of the buttons that has been badly rendered.
dunno about the the other spots...

Hi Paul,

Yes, on my Touch I can see a pattern on the home, weather and launcher buttons that similar to your image.  It's very subtle, but looks to exist in the button graphic.

On a white screen like Word Mobile, I cannot see any patterns on my display.

I have the same problem....it seems most visible on the messaging window when there is a white background....not visible when on other windows.....very annoying.
