Guest marisa4755
I'm thinking of buying this device and was wondering of those of you with one could answer 3 questions for me: The Touchflo interface (cube etc) is that only in that rather gloomy black/grey colour? Are there options to change it? Has anyone also owned a Vario II (Tytn, Hermes etc) and can you compare speed/memory etc, do you notice the difference? How about battery life, is it that much better? Has anyone got window live mobile working 'out of the box' without problems or are you all having problems and having to install another version? Many thanks for any help with this. Guest simon211175
I'm not sure if you've had answers to your questions elsewhere, but here's what I know after having my Touch for two weeks: 1. The TouchFlo Cube is only in the grey colour with no easy way to change it. Although I haven't looked too much in to it, the home plugin (the clock/weather/launcher routine on the homescreen) use png images for the graphics, saved in the Windows folder. There were loads more images in there that could well be the ones you need for changes to the cube - but it would mean a lot of work to create the images and overwrite the ones that are going to be set as read-only on the phone. 2. I didn't own any of those phones so can't compare, but IMO the speed of the phone is just fine for daily use. The battery seems to have a good life - although it started out with poor life until I charged it a few times. Now it lasts 3/4 days with average use (few phone calls / texts per day, bluetooth always on, playing with settings, games etc). 3. Mine was the T-Mobile branded version which because of their wanting to get people out of using IM programs - it had been removed. Downloaded it though from someone posting on xda-developers.com and it worked fine first time. The only problem I found with it was that it copied the contacts to my phone contacts list. I hope I've been some help to you, you might want to try looking at the forums at www.xda-developers.com - they have a load of threads about upgrading memory and registry tweaks to help get the most out of this phone. I got this device on Orange when it was first released by them in their shops back in July. There is minimal branding on it and they don't seem to have taken any features away on this one. I have not found a way of changing anything about the Touchflo cubes, but to be honest I don't really use that bit so have not looked into it too much. I cannot compare it to any other devices as I have not had a windows based device before, but I am happy with the battery life. It last about 4 days on a full charge now with what I would call average daily use. As for my Windows live. I got mine working straight out of the box. I get the impression that I may be one of the few that has been able to use all of the features on the device immediately. Hope that answers your questions. Mandy.
