Great news!! I talked to the Swedish Samsung support so lets just wait and see:) she told me to visit samsungmobile.com to see the update. I´ll get back to you as soon as it comes up! I am currentrly waiting for the ROM update to download - sloooooow, it seems to be from a generic US ftp site so I am hoping it is a generic version,but will see how much damage i can inflict on my phone though impatiece of not waiting for the official UK version shortly and report back. if it works i am not sure what the position is on posting - it is an official update - Paul? Guest neilg Posted July 31, 2007 Report Share Posted July 31, 2007 well - i still maintain that the link looks completly generic, but I too have the 'wrong version, please check device' message on trying ot install so I guess I will have to wait for the correct version, which probably means waiting for the portuguese version since that's where my phone appears to have been supplied from!! Guest neilg Posted July 31, 2007 Report Share Posted July 31, 2007 OK have seen a bunch of posts elsewhere on this (including the unwired again - thanks Arne :-) ) Basically dutch phones have a software version (start>setings>7>7>5) that starts i600UXX. If your phone has this version you are laughing. If it stats with anythign else (like i600XXG) you are stuffed, although I am sure the XXG version will appear soon or else someone will work out a way to change the software version number on the phone or patch the updater if anyone is that desperate! Guest hepics Posted July 31, 2007 Report Share Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) To download WM6 from the netherlands website On the first screen enter the version number i600XX999 On the second screen enter your First Name, Last Name, E-Mail, Country and Serial Number of your fone (remove battery and check the last number (S/N:) on the label just under the barcode. Download the Upgrade :) Or you can just download directly using the following samsungmobile.com links (I hope mods won't mind, these are generic links on samsungmobile.com itself) http://fus.samsungmobile.com/i600/ActiveSync_Dutch_setup.msi (ActiveSync 4.5) http://fus.samsungmobile.com/i600/Samsung_..._modem_4.34.zip (Modem Driver) http://fus.samsungmobile.com/I600/i600UXXupdater.exe (WM6) I am still downloading so can't tell if this will install on non-netherland phones or if it has english language support. Update: Updater is not updating. Gives the error: "Incorrect software version. Check the device". I am trying to patch the updater to accept my device. Im glad others are having the same problem, at first i thought there would be no hope.
