When I first connect my Smartphone, it will create a partner profile and display the name on the activesync screen.  How do I change that name ?  I tried changing the owner name but it does not work.  Thanks for your advice.

An even easier method (at least this works on my Samsung Blackjack) is:

Start Menu > Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > My Information Setting

On that screen, enter the desired name where it says, "Device Name."

Thank you, thank you.  :D I have a BlackJack II and had already named it and synced it with my office pc and my laptop running Windows XP.  I just bought an new laptop with Vista and somehow in the set up process with the new laptop my device was renamed.  I don't know how yet.
It was good to finally find someone who did not automatically assume that anyone reading these posts wants to or is comfortable editing the registry and what-not.  I changed it back using the above menu.  It must be the only place I did not look.  It's not really logical since I'm using a USB connection with both machines, but whatever.  Now when I get back to the house and hook it back up to the Vista laptop, we will see what happens.
