What he has said is that the "trade price" is £320 SIM-free and £265 with a contract. Now this is for public sector, and generally (because we pay £0 line rental) we pay higher prices [edit: than you pay in the high street] for the handsets. That seems like a very nice price! He's a reliable guy whom I've dealt with for some time, so he's got no reason to make stuff up as far as I can see. I'm Kinda new to all this Windows Mobile stuff so you all will have to bare with me please. I had an SPV C600 for sometime and absolutely hated it... untill I swapped it for a Nokia N95 - THE WORST PHONE I'VE EVER HAD!!! Been through 6 handsets and all were faulty! I was gonna go for the iPhone (being an Apple PPC G5 owner). But then thought the phone is all show and no go. The considered the SE W960. And was very close to holding out for a release... untill the Kaiser caught my eye. Unfortunately I can't really afford / justify the HTC version so will wait for the Vario III. Although I do totally hate the look of the T Mobile version. But hopefully the functions will somewhat disguise the ugliness of it ;) Anyone know if FIFA 07 will be available for this phone? Only reason I ask is that's the only thing that has made me hold onto my N95 :wub: PS All be warned. As I mentioned I am kinda new to all this Windows Mobile lark... and am also not very good with IT / Techno jargon - so I'll be firing a fair few questions at all you when I get the phone :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The German T-Mobile site now has basic info now..looking like an October release now :wub: They had the Vario II about 3/4 weeks before we did last year and I believe they had the Touch before we did too. The German t-mobile unit (which, let's face it, is probably the more accurate of the two) has different key printing and shapes as well as MDA and t-mobile branding. The UK flyer on the other hand looks generic. Is t-mobile UK reduced to producing its own marketing materials from pic it can find on the internet or early samples from HTC? So I'd guess T-Mobile's updates are taking some time to develop and test to their satisfaction (which may include making sure people can't easily unlock them, bypass any limits T-Mobile put in such as disabling MSN Messenger on basic WnW, etc.) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That device also looks a lot better than the t mobile offering ;) I'm guessing t mobile would charge me approx £200 for the handset on my Flext W&W 25 (12 month contract). Not really that crazy, low price for new contracts increases their customer base, renewals just prevent churn to other networks, it's been that way since mobiles were introduced. And his bills each month were only around £35 (inc line rental). So, in context to my mates N95 deal, I'm presuming the Vario 3 will be around the £150 (ish) mark - depending on what contract you upgrade to. As Mr Clark said, most people who buy this kinda phone know what they are buying and would therefore most probably go with the HTC, and IMO the better version of the phone... plus it looks a lot nicer than the Vario 3 ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They are treating new customers better than existing ones, which is likely to alienate some of their existing customers. Can always cancel and rejoin, but is a pain. I currently havea Vario 1, am out of contract and thought the simplest thing was to upgrade to a Vario 3. But it might be worth buying HTC if it's markedly superior. My wife upgraded last month to a nokia 6120c that was listed as £69 to upgrade but was free to new customers. A quick call to the loyalty dept got her the phone for free.
