I am not the only one who doesn't get the advantages of IMAP over POP3?
The above post is blatantly wrong I NEVER have had to access my gmail through a browser on my HERMES or KAISER I just set the pop3 access and use the built in mail client in Windows Mobile(5 and 6). Ideally I'd like my mail delivered as it arrives to the server but the send / receive menu item isn't that hard to click when you want to check email.
So for us confused who haven't quite got wildly excited about it's arrival can someone explain in clear English what the advantage is? Unless it can deliver mail to my phone as it arrives I just don't get it.
Thanks in advance.

The advantage of imap is obvious to all that have used it.
It means that your email and folders are synched between all devices, ie your mail checked on your pda, outlook or other desktop client and the web mail. meaning if you read it, open it on one, it will automatically be shown as open on the others. deleting on one will delete off the others.
what I cannot get to work is appointments from outlook sent to a gmail account to be able to accept decline etc from the wm6 device
