Chaps some advice please.

Sold my xbox 360 for around £320 on ebay

Guy paid via paypal echeque

Took around 10 days to clear and its gone through today.

I emailed the guy and asked why he paid via echeque and not normal instant pay via paypal. In his response he was a little confused as to why it was echeque and came back to me later and found that his card had expired and hence the echeque. He asked me to refund the echeque, and he would repay via proper paypal with his new card details. I told him to leave it as paypal where processing it, he agreed.

Now the problem is that although the cash has cleared, he isnt verified and that means that I am a seller am not protected. What do you suggest? Should I ship the item? I sold something of similar value on ebay previously, and they reversed the transaction because the account had be hijacked. I don’t trust paypal anymore….

Paypal does that sometimes, usually due to a hiccup with card processing - its happened to my dearly beloved twice as a buyer with a valid 1st direct card during the hsbc debacle in August.

If the money cleared you have it ..... it took 10 days and came from a bank account, so its not a hooky credit card - I'd call that a result and send him the toys.

Hope this helps,

David.
