Tweak utility: neoOrder

Here's my first of my tweak utilities for the Shadow!

This one lets you change the order of the items on the Neo homescreen. Simply reorder, exit, and then switch to a different homescreen and back to see the effects!

It's an EXE you need to run directly on your device (i'll create a CAB when i've made a few and i'm bundling them together).

Enjoy!

Setting Clock for the home does not work if you have MyFaves. Even if I disable MyFaves the second on the list still comes up first and the clock screen is nonexistent. I think you have to disable more than one thing to make the clock show up with MyFaves. Here is a quote saying all you need to do. Could you make it so disabling MyFaves also makes those Reg changes or find another way to show the clock with MyFaves? (I don't like seeing the MyFaves so either way doesn't bother me.)

Here's one that was posted over at xda-Dev, it disables MyFave icons for those who subscribe:

go to:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome

inside got CMyFaves- find value Disable Change from 0 to 1

Next:

in same place HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome

go to CHome inside is value Disable page change value from 1 to 0

Last:

in same place HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome

got CClock change value disable from 1 to 0

and value disable page from 1 to 0

soft reset

Thanks,

Steven

No, as per the original post, just switch to a different homescreen then back.

Paul or anyone who has done this:

Is there a way to have both myfaves and the clock (i.e. the normal NEO home screen) enabled at the same time?

First, I used the neoOrder utility to set plugins in the order: Clock:myfaves:notifications:appointments:... then I made the specified registry changes (enabling both clock and myfaves) after activating myfaves after a soft reset, myfaves appears and the clock disappears. When I proceed to check the registry setting, the key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CClock\Disabled has the value 1, even though it was set to value 0 before the soft reset.

Another strange/unusual observations with my phone (T-Mobile Shadow - copper, which was a phone upgrade as well as to a myfaves plan) is that there appears to be no automatic myfaves startup application on my setup. I have to manually start myfaves after a soft reboot.

Paul,

Do you have an objections to us hosting some of your Shadow creations on our site (with appropriate references to you of course)? Some users are having difficulty getting some files.

I see everyone talking about editing the registry. I am a new shadow owner. How do I do it? (I know how on Windows PC!)

thanks!!!

Soft reset was required for me for some reason.... I changed homescreens numerous times to no avail-- Maybe because I have a custom theme installed??

Anyways, if it doesn't work for anyone, try a soft reset--works.

Clock+MyFaves Home Screen: I think a soft reset is needed after the change with NeoOrder but even then it does not work reliably. That is, myfaves (if you have that function) does not always start or starts and displays the "myfaves is off" message. In fact I can never tell when both myfaves and the clock will both run after a soft reset but it does run sometimes as is evident in this screen shot. MyFaves is 3rd menu item from the top on the home screen.

I think both registry keys:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CClock\Disabled and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CMyFaves\Disabled need to be set to value 0 and there has to be no pending updates to myfaves settings for both the clock and myfaves to appear on the home screen after a soft reset. The stupid thing is that it does work but not predictably.

I have both the clock and myfaves and have yet to have any problems. However, I made the registry edit to enable the clock first, so it was already at the top of the list and did not need to be moved using neoOrder. I installed neoOrder much later to switch the notifications with myfaves (which makes my 1st three items the same as yours in the neo menu order). I did not have to do a soft reset after using neoOrder, just switching homescreens as stated in the directions did the trick for me.

I have soft reset my device multiple times since then for unrelated reasons, and the menu order has still been reliable.
