Is there any application that shows a full screen image similar to how the iPhone does when someone is calling in?

Give Slide to Unlock a go.  It gives your the "slide to unlock" screen from the Iphone and can do a full screen caller thingy.

It is now called S2U2 and is at version 0.86
It is available and discussed here
Full screen caller works very well, it also has the added benefit of preventing your ear from launching apps etc. during a call.
